What an UNREAL September 1st 2018!! #Global12
Global 12 brought about a truly universal feeling, with the music breaking down barriers of language and cultural identity. From the acts themselves, the beats provided by resident DJ, to the cold cans of Coors Light that seemed endless in their supply, the event was a huge success, with a crowd that brought out the best of what music scenes have to offer. It’s a must-see on your festival calendar for 2019.

Shodement – the organiser behind Global 12 focuses on the creation of the future music industry and development of artists emerging in the current space. Since launching, the talent network has grown to over 3 million combined views around the world and its creative agency arm has executive on the platform that delivered campaigns for major brands including Vogue, Adidas, Universal Music, Sony Music and SBTV.
Quin is an LA based electronic-pop singer who is known for captivating her audience and immersing them into her own world. She has been involved with music from a very young age partly inspired by her dad who plays the trumpet and the drums. Her first idol was Celine Dion and she states that music is a form of escapism.
Her music is influenced by the likes of Lady Gaga , Beyonce and St. Vincent. Her style has been dubbed as ‘fantasy soul’ and this is evident from her EP Dreamgirl. There is a lot of soul in her music with a touch of pop , hip-hop and electronic elements.
The first single released from her EP was the track “Sticky” which is the ultimate summer hit and reflects the variety of moods and ‘colours’ incorporated in her music. The track is inspired by a ‘sticky’ situation or in other words being in a relationship which has lost its flavour. This is also reflected in the theme of the music video.
You can check out her EP Dreamgirl from the links below. All tracks on the album are a result of a heart-break at the tender age of 19 where Quin describes her world being turned upside down which led to her finding herself and challenging herself to be confident, creative and to follow her dreams.
The talented Angelica López and the winner of last years Global 12 Festival provides a perfect example of how music artists can align their campaigns with worthwhile / charitable causes.
This past December she hosted a tropical Christmas party where 50p from every sold ticket went towards supporting ‘Children Change Colombia’.
This is the largest UK charity which works exclusively in Colombia. They support children and families to challenge inequality, violence and discrimination. Many children in Columbia still live in poverty and are excluded from society. Some of the issues they address include denied education and sexual exploitation. Their aim is to help families understand their rights and gain the confidence to pursue them for the benefit of their community as a whole.
The event which took place was the most tropical party of the season. She was joined by many fans and members of the Te Amo Columbia movement.
With many drinks to go around , a live band and amazing food it was a day to remember!
